testing, including hydro testing, bolting and leak testing. In excess
of 20 000 bolted joints have been managed so far using the
software.
“The designers of the FLANGEPRO system were there at all
stages to help tailor the flange management system to our needs.
There were a few glitches on site and SPX Bolting Systems were
able to very quickly resolve the issues. We were also pleased we
choose FLANGEPRO as we can use the system for other services
our clients need such as pre-commissioning testing.”
SPX Bolting Systems and Altus Intervention are in the process
of a collaboration to develop the the software to be able to work
on all service lines that Altus Intervention supplies, as well as its
initial use for bolting services, such as leak testing.
With FLANGEPRO, SPX can work with the client to upload
schematics of the project enabling the drawing to be marked up
each time another stage is completed. the software also allows for
work packs to be created. This allows the customer to view the
tasks contained within a project and relate them to the project
work based schedule.
Chris Cashmore remembers when “flange management used

The automisation of work packs from the data that the
software collates means that the opportunity for human error
is greatly reduced. When repeating projects on the same plant
in the future the parameters for a work pack usually only vary
slightly e.g. pressure relief valves etc. The time invested in
developing these workflows initially, improves a company’s work
efficiency when carrying out future projects on their assets.
