offshore gas
detection systems
for dependable

gas hazards.
I
n a hazardous offshore environment, having
well-maintained, reliable gas detection solutions can
mean the difference between life and death.
Tragedies such as Piper Alpha and Deepwater
Horizon serve as a stark reminder of the devastation that fire can
wreak. These incidents also highlight the importance of having
fully trained staff where a myriad of fire hazards are present.
In order to minimise risk so duties can be carried out safely,
gas detection is one of the first steps to ensuring the safety of
workers. It is essential to provide dependable early warning of gas
hazards and there can be as many as 700 gas detectors installed on
any single offshore platform in strategic locations.
