explains the use of the
company's RollSizers at coal
crushing plants.
W
hether starting the development of a
new coal mine, setting up a new coal
production line or refurbishing an
existing line, investors and responsible
engineers face the problem of finding a suitable concept to
provide coal with the required grain size to a certain
location. Beside the mining and the material handling
phases, the comminution of the material plays an
important role in the process of finding a suitable plant
layout.
Usually the crushing of coal is done in two or three
steps. The primary purpose of the first crushing step is the
production of conveyable material. During this process,
the grain size of the material has to be reduced to
0 – 300 mm or 0 – 400 mm, depending on the width of the
belt conveyor used for the subsequent transport. The size
of primary crushers is determined by the size of the feed
material and the required capacity.
