packages and product transfer; and its pipeline
inspection services include caliper, inertial geometry,
cathodic protection surveys, crack detection and metal
loss using magnetic flux leakage (MFL) and ultrasonic
technologies, and fit-for-purpose evaluations.
Baker Hughes’ services are available to the natural
gas, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemical
industries in major oil producing areas across the globe.

Gorgon Project, Western Australia – the Baker
Hughes PPS team recently completed dewatering
and purging the Jansz 6, 8 and 34 in. pipeline system
from Barrow Island to the Jansz field, as part of the
Chevron Gorgon project. This significant milestone,
which was on a critical path for the project, allows
Chevron to move forward with critical downstream
construction operations.

Chuandongbei, China – in early March 2015, Baker
Hughes PPS was awarded a two year contract for
pipeline and process precommissioning services
on a major onshore sour gas project for Chevron
in China. Baker Hughes will perform pipeline
precommissioning services such as mechanical
cleaning and drying, caliper and magnetic flux
leakage (MFL) inspection, and nitrogen-helium leak
testing to ensure valve steams are leak-free. Process
precommissioning services include remedial bolting
and nitrogen-helium leak testing of plant and well
pads.

Shah Deniz, Azerbaijan – engineering work is
ongoing in London with BP, relating to the pipeline
precommissioning aspects of the Stage 2 Full-field
Development Project. This development will deliver
gas into Europe via a network of significant new gas
pipelines.
