Michael White,
Brookville
Equipment Corp.,
USA,
describes the
company's underground
personnel carriers'
history, composition and
development.
W
ith safety and
efficiency at the
forefront of mine
operators’ agendas,
miners in the 1980s began to seek
solutions that would more effectively
move small crews of workers from
one site to another underground. As
a result, Brookville Equipment Corp.,
a custom manufacturer that was
already a supplier of low-height
locomotives for haulage applications,
received its first order for low-height
mining personnel carriers in 1986.
