tilising light-duty diesel vehicles to get men and
materiel to the face is popular in underground
operations where there is sufficient room for them
to operate. Manoeuvrable vehicles make
underground transport efficient, quick and cost-effective.
Unfortunately, continuing changes in regulations and
emissions compliance has discouraged many manufacturers
from staying in this market, leaving a relative scarcity of
reliable, economical vehicles. A few speciality companies
and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which builds
Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Truck vehicles, are the
prominent manufactures.
