Banlaw’s systems allow fixed and
mobile plant equipment to be fast-filled
safely and fuel usage to be monitored.
Additionally, its systems assist in
eliminating fuel theft, reducing
machinery downtime and providing a
cleaner, safer and more environmentally
sustainable workplace.
Cummins
Cummins’ (Stand: 0216) Tier 1 to Tier 2
converted QSK60 engine will be a key
focus of its stand at AIMEX.
With Australian conversions carried
out at the company’s master rebuild
centres in Brisbane and Perth, the key
change, accoridng to the company, is the
use of the modular common rail fuel
system (MCRS) on the Tier 2 QSK60,
which replaces the Tier 1 engine’s unit
injection system, with the MCRS
creating longer life-to-overhaul and
reducing life-cycle costs.
The MCRS fuel system is fully
integrated with Cummin’s electronic
control module (ECM), which enables the
engine to continually maintain an
optimum balance between load, demand,
fuel-efficiency and emissions control.
Each injector in this high-pressure
fuel system has its own integrated
accumulator that helps eliminate
pressure pulsation to improve
combustion and idle stability. A
high-pressure pump delivers fuel
through double-wall lines to the
accumulators and injectors, which are
electronically actuated to provide highly
accurate control of metering and timing.
Fuel is delivered to the injectors at up to
1600 bar (23 000 psi) by conducting
multiple injection events during each
power stroke, smoother and more
consistent power is delivered.
The MCRS also provides 18% faster
load acceptance for improved engine
response, 50% faster colder starts and
significantly reduced noise and
vibration. MCRS engines are 80% quieter
under load and when idle, with reduced
loading on the camshaft and geartrain,
due to the fact that camshaft-driven
injectors are eliminated through the use
of the common rail fuel system.
Flexco
Flexco (Stand: 1711) plans to display its
range of conveyor solutions at AIMEX,
including belt cleaners, ploughs,
conveyor rollers, impact beds, transfer
chutes, mechanical belt fasteners, pulley
lagging and safety tools. These will be
installed on a brand new life-size
conveyor where attendees can get up
close to the products and see how they
work in practice.
“AIMEX is the biggest show on our
calendar and a great place to publically
launch new products and show our
conveyor solutions to a domestic and
international audience,” Mark Colbourn,
Flexco’s National Sales and Marketing
Manager said.
Launching in 2015 is the new H-Type
Service Advantage Cartridge Primary
Cleaner. The H-Type Primary Cleaner
has been a market favourite in Australia
for over 20 years. The Service Advantage
Cartridge System already features on
three popular secondary cleaners in the
Flexco range.
“By combining the reliable and
popular H-Type with the tried and
tested cartridge system, Flexco can now
offer a complete easy-removal cartridge
system for both the primary and
secondary positions on the conveyor,”
Colbourn said.
Hitachi Construction
Machinery Australia
Hitachi (Stand: 0310) is preparing to
demonstrate an array of its solutions to
the mining industry at AIMEX, including
its EH5000AC-3 rigid dump truck (RDT)
simulator. The EH5000AC-3 is Hitachi’s
largest RDT, with a payload class of 300 t
and a reputation for superior hauling
capabilities in the opencast mining
industry. It features advanced drive
control systems, a high-powered engine
and a strong‑structured body. The
simulator will be set up to replicate an
RDT plus trailer configuration and
visitors can try it out.
Hitachi will also be demonstrating
the Hitachi Theatre. Here, visitors can
see the company’s equipment in action,
including the EX80000-6 backhoe
excavator, which weighs in at over 800 t
and is able to load the 300 t payload of a
Hitachi EH50000AC-3 truck with four
passes. The excavator is transported to
site by many large floats and semi-
trailers and assembled onsite with the
assistance of large cranes
Additionally, Hitachi will be
discussing its recent partnership with
Wenco International Mining System.
Kal Tire
Meanwhile, Kal Tire Mining Tire Group
(Stand: 2216) will be heading to the
show for the first time to showcase its
Total Tire Solutions when it comes to
mining tyre service and supply and how
they effectively decrease costs and
improve productivity.
“Kal Tire has been operating in
Western Australia for many years now”,
says Darren Flint, Managing Director,
Kal Tire Australia. “We’re expanding our
reach to bring our best-in-class mining
tyre solutions to mines across Australia’s
East and West.”
Kal Tire, a company founded in the
mountains of British Colombia, Canada,
delivers local tyre solutions to mine sites
around the world and at every extreme
– from 14 000 ft high shifts in the Andes
to the -30˚C oil sands of Alberta, the
scorching rainforests of Ghana and the
remote red earth of the Pilbara.
“Safety is a number one priority, like
it is with any mining customer, and
we’re proud to be showcasing Journey
to Zero at AIMEX,” continued Flint. “At
Kal Tire, our goal is zero harm for every
teammember, every day. Like our
training, we have global standards when
it comes to operating safely.”
